Founded by Richard Bertine, Hooked on Hardwood is one of the most respected wood flooring companies in South Florida.
Having worked in construction since the age of 15 and after serving in the U.S. Army Infantry at Ft. Ord, California, Richard found his love for wood flooring in Kentucky. Hardwood flooring allowed him to combine his construction knowledge and passion for craftsmanship in wood flooring.
In 1988, Richard began a career in the hardwood floor industry in horse country – Lexington, Kentucky – where he learned from the best enterprise in the state.
In 1992, Richard and his family moved to Martin County, Florida where he grew up and proceeded to work for the finest wood flooring company in Northern Palm Beach County. After two years, Richard branched out to form Bertine’s Hardwood which later became Hooked on Hardwood.
